Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TriibeUK Ltd ("Triibe", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal data when you use the Triibe platform — whether as a member, instructor, or studio. Please read this carefully alongside our Terms of Service.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who We Are
TriibeUK Ltd is responsible for personal data it uses to operate the platform. Instructors and studios may separately control the booking and customer information they receive to deliver their own services. Stripe also processes payment and identity-verification information under its own privacy terms. Questions about our handling of your data can be sent to hello@triibe.ai.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in three main ways:
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account details — name, email address and profile photo when you register; our authentication provider handles sign-in credentials
- Profile information — your bio, location, qualifications, categories, and any other details you add to your public or private profile
- Content — videos, posts, class descriptions, programs, challenges, events, and notes you upload or publish
- Payment and payout information — details you provide to Stripe to pay or receive earnings, including payment methods, business information, identity documents and bank details where Stripe requires them. Stripe handles sensitive card and verification details; Triibe does not store full card numbers
- Communications — messages you send to other users through the platform, and correspondence you send to us directly
- Class, plan and booking data — class schedules, instructor plans, credit packs, booking and waitlist records, and studio management information
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, content viewed, search queries, and interactions with the feed
- Device and technical data — IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and referring URLs
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 7 for details
- Transaction data — records of purchases, platform fees, credits used, recurring plan and trial status, cancellations, refunds, disputes and payouts
2.3 Information from third parties
- Clerk and other sign-in providers — account identifiers and basic profile information such as your name and email address
- Stripe — connected-account status, payment and subscription status, transaction identifiers, payouts, disputes and refunds needed to operate purchases
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data to:
- Create and manage your account and provide you access to the platform
- Facilitate bookings, class credits, plans, content purchases, subscription renewals and payouts between users
- Personalise your experience — including your feed, recommendations, and discover pages
- Send you transactional emails such as booking confirmations, receipts, and account notifications
- Send you platform updates, new feature announcements, and (where you have opted in) marketing communications
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations
- Analyse platform usage and performance to improve our products and services
- Comply with our legal obligations
- Resolve disputes and enforce our Terms of Service
Our legal bases
We process your data under the following legal bases:
- Contract — processing necessary to provide the services you have signed up for
- Legitimate interests — analytics, fraud prevention, platform security, and improving our services (balanced against your rights)
- Legal obligation — where we are required to process data by law
- Consent — for optional marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only in the following circumstances:
4.1 Within the Triibe platform
Profile information you make public (such as your display name, bio, photo, and published content) is visible to other Triibe users and, where the page is public, visitors. When you book, join a waitlist or purchase, the relevant instructor or studio may receive the information needed to manage the service (such as your name, contact details, booking, plan and attendance or credit status). They are responsible for their own use of that information.
4.2 Service providers
We share data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the platform, including:
- Stripe, for payments, subscriptions, connected-account identity checks and payouts
- Clerk, for account registration and secure sign-in
- Cloud hosting and storage providers, for operating the platform and storing uploaded content
- Email delivery providers, including Resend, for service and notification emails
- Analytics and security providers, where used to maintain and improve the service
Our service providers handle data to provide their services, subject to applicable agreements and privacy terms. Some, including Stripe for regulated payment and verification activities, may also have their own legal obligations and act as independent controllers for those purposes.
4.3 Legal and safety reasons
We may disclose your information where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Triibe, our users, or the public.
4.4 Business transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of TriibeUK Ltd's assets, your personal data may be transferred to the new entity. We will notify you in advance of any such transfer where required by law.
5. Data Retention
We keep information while it is needed to provide the service and, after an account closes, where needed for legal, financial, security or dispute-resolution purposes. Retention depends on the type of information and why we hold it:
- Account, profile and published content are kept while your account is active, then reviewed for deletion or retention where necessary for a continuing obligation or dispute
- Bookings, transactions and financial records may be retained after account closure for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and legal purposes
- Support messages and security logs are retained only as long as needed for support, safety or legal purposes
- Stripe and other independent providers may retain their own records under their own legal obligations and privacy policies
You may request deletion at any time (Section 6), although some records may need to be retained by law or to resolve outstanding transactions and claims. Removing public content does not necessarily remove copies already shared with others or held temporarily in backups.
6. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data where there is no compelling reason for us to continue processing it
- Restriction — ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
- Portability — receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on your consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@triibe.ai. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the platform and understand how it is used. Cookies are small text files stored on your device.
- Essential cookies — required for core functions such as keeping you logged in; disabling them in your browser may prevent those functions from working.
- Authentication cookies — used by Clerk to securely manage your sign-in session.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the platform.
8. International Data Transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for such transfers, we rely on an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your data. Use of the platform is not treated as consent to international transfers.
9. Children's Privacy
The Triibe platform is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their personal data, please contact us at hello@triibe.ai and we will delete it promptly.
10. Third-Party Links
The platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and this Policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email or via the platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Triibe after that date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
